The arid conditions continue as it is now 19 days without measurable rain. With temperatures still in the low 30'sC and evapotranspiration at 38.5mm in the past 7 days alone, we are becoming desperate for rain. Thundery downpours that are forecast will do little as most of that will probably run-off.

 

In the meantime, cricket preparation and repairs continue, initial marking of rugby pitches on Bigside in the blistering heat continues as does painting 56 rugby uprights and 28 crossbars for the Michaelmas term. At least the paint is drying quickly!
