A rather gloomy wet day with persistant rain all morning and into the afternoon halted any thought of cricket pitch preparation with the squares and grass nets soon turning into puddles.

 

Box mowing or gang mowing were also out of the question on Turf, Rockies and New Ground. However we did manage to mow Derby Field with the Lloyds Leda trailer gang mowers as they cope well under wet conditions as they don't clog up as much as the hydraulic gang mowers or triple mower.

 

So it was a day for repairs and maintenance to machines and a chance for a couple of staff to take a well earned half day leave!
