After a frosty foggy start with temperatures sub zero the sun soon came out and lifted temperatures quickly to above freezing by 9:00am. By 2:00pm the temperature lifted to a pleasant 9.3C with broken cloud allowing spells of sunshine.

 

The sports pitches have drained very quickly over the past couple of days thanks to a regular weekly aerating programme. This has enabled today's football leagues and hockey practice to go ahead as normal on reasonably firm pitches.
