Well, after all that cold and wet weather it has been great to see some sunshine and even some warmth (11.4C) on Monday. I was even down to my T-shirt for an hour or so! But it's back to the biting NE'lys again and dry enough for my team to wrap up like Eskimos pop in the iPods and start the long slow process of consolidating the cricket squares. Cup-a-Soups are essential at breaks and the wise ones take a flask of hot soup with them on the roller. Rolling will be a daily task to consolidate all 10 cricket squares, weather permitting, starting with the Stothert & Pitt roller before moving up to the 4 foot Auto-Rollers.
We have also taken the opportunity to start initial marking the running track on Rockies to try and get an early start as much as we are able to. This is to ensure that as much preparation is done for the Summer Term as possible as this year, for the first time, we are hosting an International Rugby Festival at Easter over a week. This is going to give us extra challenges during our busiest changeover period.
I have a great, dedicated team that will rise to the challenge!
